THE ZUNI BUILDING – A BRIEF HISTORY
Step back in time to 1902 when The Empire Theatre graced this spot here on Patrick Street, Kilkenny, a grand creation brought to life by the visionary Lady Desart. Evolving over time into The Kilkenny Theatre and then Stallards Theatre, the allure of this spot grew with each chapter.
Preserving its rich history, Zuni now stands as a testament to the past, blending old and new. Only the facade and our Box Office cocktail bar, which was the original box office for the theatre, remain from the historic building.
Embracing its heritage and the future, Zuni Restaurant and Hotel opened its doors on February 17th, 2000. We invite you to join us today to be a part of a story that began in 1902 and continues in 2024 and beyond.
