THE KILLARNEY COURT HOTEL CELEBRATES 25 YEARS IN BUSINESS!

Riobard Lyne started trading as the Killarney Court Hotel in April 1998, 25 years ago this month. Riobard aka known as Robert, Robbie, Rob and Bob quickly established the award-winning carvery as a mainstay for locals and tourists alike. Situated on the main roundabout for Limerick/Tralee it was a very easy place to meet and park. With 116 bedrooms it was capable of dealing with tours and individuals and has been a mainstay option for the last quarter of a century.

Riobard grew up in the hotel business with his parents Angela and Bob Lyne purchasing the Queens Hotel, Ennis, County Clare in 1975. With Riobard’s Dad being from Kilgarvan which is situated between Killarney and Kenmare, Riobard had travelled to Kerry a lot over the years so when the opportunity came up to start the Killarney Court Hotel he was very familiar with the area.

While growing up in the hospitality business Riobard qualified as a solicitor and practised for 4/5 years before renewing his passion for the hotel business. This was his first venture on his own and he was delighted to have the opportunity to operate in the tourist capital of Ireland.

A lot has changed over the last quarter century, the hotel went through Y2K at the start and more recently covid. It is the premium carvery and bar and restaurant offering for Killarney with a consistency that is renowned. All of the different Bobs i.e Riobard, Robert, Robbie and Rob are looking forward to reaching the half century of trading in due course.

It is now under the General Management of Amanda Curran Leahy over the last two years while also being at the hotel for over 8 years. Her progress in the Killarney Court Hotel has been excellent with bar renovations and other redevelopments taking place under her stewardship. The hotel is in safe hands for the future..
