HOME TO ONE OF THE LARGEST COLLECTIONS OF PLANTS IN THE WORLD!

Mount Congreve House and Gardens situated in Kilmeaden, Co. Waterford, in Ireland’s Ancient East is home to one of “The Great Gardens of the World”. Mount Congreve House, home to six generations of Congreves, was built in 1760 by the celebrated local architect John Roberts.

Opening hours: January to December, Monday to Sunday:

  • Gardens: 10am – 4pm
  • Stables Café: 9am – 5pm
  • FOXFORD: 10am – 5pm
  • Waterford Greenway: 10am – 3pm

Please note that in the event of an orange or red weather warning the gardens will remain closed. We advise you to check weather conditions before travelling. Mount Congreve Gardens is open all bank holidays with the exception of Christmas Day, St. Stephen’s Day, and New Year’s Day. There will be an annual closure each January.

Plan your visit:

  • Wear comfortable walking shoes.
  • Upon arrival at Mount Congreve, please follow the signs to the carpark.
  • Do not leave any valuables in your car.
  • Blue badge parking is available at Mount Congreve House.
  • For those with mobility issues, a drop-off facility is available at Mount Congreve House.
  • The Stables Café & Shop are accessible without the purchase of a garden ticket.
  • Pets are welcome in the Wetlands only.
  • Registered Guide Dogs are permitted in the gardens.
  • Picnics are not permitted on the grounds.
  • Greenway visitors must disembark their bikes & store them in the bike depot before entry to the gardens.
  • Mount Congreve Gardens are not liable for loss or damage to property.
