My name is James Kavanagh, and I founded Hurling Tours Ireland in 2018 out of a lifelong love for our native Irish sport — hurling.
Growing up in Kilkenny, hurling was a way of life from the moment I could lift a hurley. From the age of five, I spent every spare minute in the pitch or pucking a ball off the wall, always chasing that perfect strike.
While nothing quite matches the thrill of my playing days, I’ve discovered a new passion in sharing the magic of hurling with others — from complete beginners to seasoned players. Through Hurling Tours Ireland, I get to pass on not just the skills of the game, but the spirit, history, and pride that make hurling such a special part of Irish culture.
