The Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge (locally pronounced carrick-a-reed) is a rope bridge near Ballintoy. The bridge links the mainland to the tiny island of Carrickarede (from Irish Carraig a’ Ráid, meaning ‘rock of the casting’). It spans 20 metres (66 ft) and is 30 metres (98 ft) above the rocks below. The bridge is mainly a tourist attraction and is owned and maintained by the National Trust. In 2018, the bridge had 485,736 visitors.

Tickets to cross the bridge should be pre-booked online here and ticket price includes on-site car parking.

Peak and off-peak pricing

Peak pricing applicable from June 30 until August 31, with lower prices during quieter times of the day.

National Trust Members

Free for National Trust members, however, please note pre-booking is recommended for everyone, including members. Simply choose member ticket(s) and enter your membership number when making your booking.

Parking

Visitors not wishing to cross the bridge can park for £10 per car.

Free parking for all National Trust Members and Local Pass Holders.
